Supanova Cosplay Festival

It was a really exciting day. I only heard about this cosplay festival because a friend of mine posted on facebook.

I was running a bit late today, and it was funny but I saw this dude on the train and he had a sword, so I knew he must have been a cosplayer, lol! Who takes a sword on the train? HAHA

Anyways, I acutally remembered how to get to the exhibition grounds, what a shock. That reminds me of Supanova earlier this year, I was so sad that on Sunday, the last day, I had finally remembered how to get there without any help and I wasn’t going to get a chance to go till next year! I saw Jess there, and it was so easy to find people and getting in, which was great, because I didn’t really want a 30 minute line up.

The whole thing was held in a hall that’s smaller then the main building.

To my surprise, there were small stalls set up in the room. I didn’t think there would be anything acutally, so it was nice to look at what there was.

We walked around once, and soon we were able to get in line to get things signed by Stephanie Sheh (the voice actress of Hinata, Orihime, and lots of other characters) which was really exciting!

The dude next to her, I swear, was staring at us, especially when we were wanting to take photos.

We went to her Question and Answer panel, and there were so great questions asked, I filmed most of it again, some questions were, who was her favourite character, how did she get into acting, did she prefer the dub or the sub (and we learnt a lot about in the olden days, how dubs were done, that if something was erased, then it was permanently erased, and now you can do as many takes as you wanted, and can go back and choose which one was the best. There were questions on how her interactions were with other voice actors and if they play pranks on each other.

Which she told us the story of one of the voice actors, he wasn’t paying attention, so someone decided to prank him by saying that he was called up on the stage. He just ran up and started taking the microphone off the guy who was midway talking (and totally interrupted him) oh boy, that would’ve been really embarrassing!

Hinata impersonation video.

After that, we went to have some food, and came back around 1pm to get more things signed.

And it was hilarious but when they came, that same dude from before came too, and both me and Jess were thinking, oh crap, not him again! Since he gave us the stare, we were just pretending that we didn’t know anything, and looking innocent LOL

I was able to ask her a question this time, about how she was able to voice characters in different emotions, and she said that many times, she can pretend, but sometimes she would really need to be in that mood.

I was able to get some more photos taken! So, it was a fantastic day and there were lots of great cosplayers!
