So I was watching the Olympics last night and went online at the same time. I went to other game and anime-related news of the day, and this headline caught my attention. At first, I thought, “What? No way!” The headline that says…
“New Video Group to Release Digimon Adventure Season 1 on DVD”

My jaw dropped… literally. And looked at the news bit, I was even more surprised. When they say ’complete’, they mean COMPLETE – meaning not on a 2-volume set on a 50-plus episode series, but the entire season on 8 discs for this release! And, even though this will be an English TV broadcast version, it’s definitely worth a purchase for me. And I hope you do too.
The Complete 1st Season of Digimon is coming out from New Video Group under the Flatiron Film Company label on October 9th. The retail is $80 but online stores sells cheaper. I saw one at Amazon at around $70-plus and at RightStuf at around $60.
And, finally, I don’t think anyone saw this coming – even me! No warning of this whatsoever, so this, for me, is a shocking surprise. Again, for me, a definite purchase. Digimon DVDs in America have been released before, but none as big as this! We’re back to the beginning this Fall!

Why’s this one so much more special than the other release I bought for just $65? If it’s the same episodes… A sketchbook? Wow… cause the internet isn’t full of digimon pictures already.j
I think the DVDs are special because they’re actually official release, because for years, we’ve been wanting Digimon to be released officially. All that’s been floating around on ebay are actually fanmade. Though because this was a guest article written by someone else, I don’t know the exact details of what this author is saying.
OMG!!! I can’t wait to buy it. Season 1 was the perfect start to Digimon and taught me many great life lessons…now i have a way to show my (future) kids.
I’m really glad Digimon has taught you life lessons, it has for me! I Loved it as a kid and still love it now! You’ll have really lucky future kids cos my parents didn’t know/care about any of the stuff I watched
I don’t even know how it would feel if they showed it to me :O What are specific lessons you’ve learnt? I love how they emphasis on so much, especially friendship/teamwork!
