I’ve considered myself an RPG buff for a while, even though RPGs are such a divisive genre nowadays. I’ll warn you that through experience, my tolerance for characters most people find annoying is far higher than what I’ve come to see is normal, so take this into account when reading.
Tales of Symphonia is known as one of the best, if not the best Non-zelda RPGs on the gamecube, and I think it deserves this for combining what I consider is an extremely enjoyable tale (no pun intended) with fast paced, satisfying gameplay that in my opinion surpasses the tales games that come after it.
I’ll talk about this first since it is easier. In this game, as in most tales games, you fight monsters by running into them on the map, eliminating the extreme annoyance of random battles.
