The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, wow I almost forgot how great this series was!

Episode 0, The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina starts with a mini movie that SOS Brigade made, which was narrated by Kyon.

I have to say, it’s really clever to put a “movie” that’s made by the show characters. I thought it was the real thing until I saw the “Directed by Haruhi Suzumiya”, I was thinking… Wait, this isn’t the real credits! Haruhi is a character in the show! Haha!

So we have 5 main characters in the show. Kyon, I’m guessing he’s the cameraman? He also narrates through this movie. Haruhi is, of course the director. Yuki, Itsuki and Mikuru are all acting in the movie.

The movie is rather complicated, and what I really love is while Kyon was narrating it, he sounded like the movie was full of plot...

Reviewing a lot of old stuff altely, eh? This is one that I think stands out as a classic anime, only to have its memory tainted by unfortunate choices in the second season. When the series first aired, it did so in an order that made little sense at first, but came together beautifully in putting the climax, which chronologically took place in the middle of the series, at the end.

And what a perfect end it was. But first, I’ll start from the beginning.
