As I watched and finished the Adventure of the Swordgirl (Treasure Venture), I found myself inspired by many philosophies of the film. Here are just some pearls that I’ve found and I’d like to share with everyone.

True Love
Of course this is the most attractive one! I’ve read some good essays on the film, and all of them saluted the deep love growing between Shui Ruohan and Lu Jianpingz. I admire Ruohan’s willingness to stab himself in Jianping’s sword, rather than hurting the girl’s father, and eventually hurting the girl he loved the most...

So, I watched this yesterday before work, so bear with me here….

Fox of Shaolin is trying to kill herself and manipulate the situation to make it miserable for Jianping.

Fox of Shaolin being foxy….and seemingly being a bro about this thing between Jianping and Ruohan.

So, I guess I was hung up on Fox of Shaolin being a fox this episode….

Fox of Shaolin secretly happy about what she’s doing.

Jianping found out the truth, and Ruohan wasn’t able to tell her the truth because of his situation.

Sad Ruohan.

Jailiu is the guy who is pining for you, Jianping!

Plot is continuing to thicken as the shifty quest to get the key from the Shaolin continues and Jianping is hiding out from the Emperor. Her dad is still in custody at East Yard, under the torturous attention of that fucking eunuch and the developing saga that is the relationship between Wuma and Nightsoil Lady reaches a new level.

The entire gang of rowdies are now at the Shaolin Temple, and it seems that Ruohan and the monks are the only ones still in the dark about Jianping actually being a woman, so her and Ruohan get roomed together, much to the Second Prince’s chagrin. Shit is seriously heating up! Gexiao and Sanniang have the Emperor still, Hai, Hu, and Xiaomei are in prison, where Wuqiu beats Hu mercilessly and then has Xiaomei heal him so he can beat him some more. This is all while Gexiao and Sanniang take the Emperor into the world to show him what’s really going on in his country. Sanniang also gets to dish out a Gibbs Slap

Gexiao thinks that the Emperor gets it, so he calls for the authorities to escort him back to the palace. Yeah, that didn’t turn out like he hoped

At least we got a Sanniang Moment of Hotness

They get away and go back to Live Drunk Die Dreaming (Which I really want as a tattoo now) and start making plans to rescue Hai, Xiaomei and Hu…for the plan to work, ...

Since I’m new to the world of wuxia and the other martial arts dramas, I asked the fine folks from the Ancient Chinese Series group on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/groups/407145375991755/) to recommend one of three series that I was interested in to watch after I finished Chinese Paladin. Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber won, but neither Treasure Venture nor Drunken Kung Fu got any votes! After seeing the trailers and reading the write-ups on these, I found that odd, since both seemed to be pretty cool….and as one who played with Drunken Kung Fu before I contracted Multiple Sclerosis, that one definitely had a soft spot in my heart.

The Emperor asked Prince Cheng and Lu Dingwen to obtain the Divine Book of the Supreme Counselor in the underground tomb of the previous Emperor. While on the mission, they face all types of dangers.
